Have you ever wished you knew more about beer? Can you tell the difference between an IPA and a pilsner? A brown ale and a porter? In conjunction with our friends, The Wine Training School, who have already guided so many Members through the Wine & Spirit Education Trust’s (WSET) renowned wine courses, we are delighted to offer our Members WSET’s first-ever beer course – the perfect chance for Members looking to fulfil that New Year’s resolution to expand their horizons and palate’s even further, all in the comfort of their Club.

The WSET Level 1 Award in Beer is a beginner-level qualification for any Members interested in learning the basics about lagers, ales, sours and more. Through a day-long, interactive course, you’ll learn the foundations of beer production, styles, food pairing and, of course, tasting.

A light lunch will be served in the St. James's Room at 1pm, with a glass of wine included, and the day culminates with a closed-book exam of 30 multiple-choice questions, with a pass mark of 70% required. Upon completion, Members will have gained a globally recognised qualification and the knowledge to help explore the world of beer in greater depth.
